FAQ

Will my insurance cover the concierge services that the clinic offers?

No, but as a current patient you will get discounted rates.

What does the membership fee cover?

The fee you pay covers a range of services, including annual wellness exams, sports and school physicals, office visits for chronic conditions, follow-up appointments, basic procedures done in the office, and treatment for minor injuries or sudden illnesses.

We believe in staying connected with our patients, so your membership also includes communication options like phone calls, texts, video chats, or emails with your provider. This way, you can reach out whenever you need assistance or have questions about your health.

Moreover, as part of our commitment to your well-being, our patients will enjoy discounted rates for lab tests, prescriptions, and certain procedures that aren't included in the membership fees. We're transparent about any additional charges beyond your membership fees, and you'll always be informed upfront if there's going to be any extra cost for a particular service. Your clarity and peace of mind about the charges are important to us.

What medical conditions do you manage?

We treat all sorts of common everyday illness and injuries, but we also can manage long term medical conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and thyroid disorders.

What if I need medical attention while I’m away from home?

We are a phone call, text, or email away, several illnesses can be diagnosed and treated using Telehealth.

When do I pay my fees for non-covered labs and medical imaging?

You will receive a statement from the facility that processed the labs.

What if I need to see a specialist?

At our clinic, we're dedicated to keeping your chronic conditions in check without the need for specialist referrals whenever possible. However, there might be situations where your condition requires specialized care. If that happens, don't worry—we'll collaborate closely with the specialist to ensure your care remains seamless.

Now, if you don't have health insurance, and you need a specialist to manage your care, the cost for their services will be something you'll need to discuss and negotiate directly with the specialist. We'll do our best to assist you in this process, making sure you get the care you need at a fair and reasonable cost.

Can children become members too?

Not currently but we hope to change that soon.

What if I decide to cancel my membership?

It would be unfortunate because we pride ourselves on keeping long term relationships but understand circumstances change. We will gladly allow you to terminate your membership. There will never be a penalty for canceling your membership but keep in mind the termination will begin before the next billing cycle. We will not prorate a refund. We will be happy to forward your medical records to your new provider to ensure continuity of care.

Is my membership fee tax deductible?

At this time, by law, your membership fee is not considered a “medical expense" in most states and is not deductible. Please talk with your tax consultant to discuss your specific circumstances.

What if I have to go to the hospital?

We recommend obtaining a catastrophic plan just in case you experience a major health issue, you will still need insurance to help cover it. Your auto or home insurance agent may be of assistance to find a policy.

If I have Medicare, can I still participate in Direct Primary Care?

If you'd like to receive our services at Uncharted Healthcare but you're covered by Medicare, we'll need you to sign a waiver. This waiver confirms that neither you nor our clinic will submit any bills to Medicare for the services we provide.

Don't worry, though! If you're a member of our clinic, your Medicare benefits won't be used for the care you receive here. You can save those benefits for any medical services you might need outside of our practice.

Just to clarify, any lab tests, imaging, or medications that our office prescribes will still be covered by Medicare. So, you can count on Medicare to assist with those specific aspects of your care.

What forms of payment are accepted?
